No account is required. The iOS app saves drafts and saved places on your device; the website saves its draft in your browser. Guides include addresses, map pins, and notes. We do not maintain an account-based guide database. Delete app drafts in the app, or clear browser storage to remove the website draft.
Trip plans stay on your device until you export, share or save a shared backup. The private TestFlight pilot lets its two participants save versioned copies on StreetParkingMap’s server and fetch each other’s changes. Backups include places, notes, hotels and day drafts (including calendar dates and fixed events) and are accessible to anyone with the pilot credential built into that beta. Versions are retained until you request deletion through the contact below. Restoring a version also saves a local recovery file. Opening an editable trip file merges its changes with your local copy. Importing a public Naver list sends the shared folder identifier to Naver; no Naver login or write access is needed. Places added through search use Apple Maps. Calculating trip routes sends the chosen start point and stop coordinates to Apple Maps; route estimates stay in memory and can be included in exports you choose to share.
The website filters our parking catalog on your device. In the iOS app, destination search also sends your query and a regional search area to Apple Maps to find businesses and addresses beyond that catalog. Search text is not sent to StreetParkingMap. Saved destinations and visit feedback stay in browser or app storage until you choose to share them. The iOS app downloads catalog updates from our website, which receives the network information needed for that request. Directions and source links open the linked service.
Text and calendar-file exports go to the destination you choose. Add to Apple Calendar previews dated, timed entries and asks you to confirm before requesting Calendar permission and saving copies. On iOS 17 and later the app requests write-only access and does not read your existing events; older iOS versions use the system’s calendar-access permission. Events may sync through the calendar account you choose. A local fingerprint helps avoid exporting unchanged entries twice; this is not a live calendar sync.
When you choose Send to Claude, your question, selected map area, hotel, saved places in the selected city (including notes and saved hours), and day slots are sent through our server to Anthropic. If you attach research, the pasted text or selected PDF is sent too. PDF files may include images, booking details and other personal information. The app shows the selected attachment before you send it. New places require a map lookup and acceptance, and fixed event proposals require acceptance before they are saved. Our server does not store questions, research files or responses; it stores request times for rate limits. Claude suggestions require your acceptance before changing a day. See Anthropic’s privacy policy.
Location access is optional and helps center the map. You can search or place pins instead. iOS version 1.5 and later use Apple MapKit for maps and address search. Older released versions use Google Maps and Google Places. The web builder uses OpenStreetMap tiles and Nominatim address search. The app also uses Nominatim for road information. The iOS map creator requests nearby public meter records from the City of Los Angeles using the selected destination's coordinates.
These providers receive the requests needed to show maps or answer searches, including relevant coordinates, search text, and network information such as your IP address. See Apple Maps privacy information, Google’s privacy policy, and the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy. The historical Street View sign service has been retired.
The website uses Google Analytics to measure visits, quiz activity, use of the map builder, and destination-lookup actions. Google Analytics may use cookies and receive device and network information. Our custom events report actions and scores, not guide addresses, destination search text, selected venue identifiers, or notes. The new iOS build does not load website Analytics or include an analytics SDK.
Our web server can log IP addresses, request URLs, and times for operation and troubleshooting. URLs can contain a searched address. We do not describe these logs as anonymous. Map and search providers handle their own request data under their policies.
Sharing sends your graphic to the destination you choose. An editable map link contains the guide’s address, coordinates, and notes; anyone with the link can read them. Share it only with intended recipients.
Guides reflect their creator’s choices. Parking notes and quiz photos may be incomplete or outdated. They do not guarantee that parking is legal or available. Check current signs and local rules. StreetParkingMap does not accept responsibility for tickets, towing, or other losses arising from reliance on this information.
