VENICE · A LOCAL’S ROUTE

Parking near
Erewhon &
Abbot Kinney.

Here’s the route I use when I’m heading to Erewhon Venice.

Skip the Erewhon lot.

Even with valet, it’s a circus. Coming westbound on Venice, watch for cars backing up from Erewhon and blocking the right lane.

Where I try instead

1 Venice Boulevard

If you’re okay walking a few blocks, I usually find street parking on the opposite, eastbound side. My first choice is just after turning around at Venice and Abbot Kinney, on the south side of Venice. Use the left lane for the U-turn only where signs and traffic permit.

Otherwise, turn right onto Abbot Kinney. I rarely find a street space there, but take one if you spot it and the signs allow your stay.

2 Meters by Salt & Straw

I usually keep going until Salt & Straw, then turn right onto California Avenue. Immediately on your right are the parking strips along South Irving Tabor Court. Follow those meter spaces toward Palms Boulevard; this is where I tend to have better luck.

3 Electric Avenue for free parking

If you reach Palms Boulevard without finding a spot, turn left, then left again onto Electric Avenue and sweep back the other way. I try both sides for free street parking. If you venture farther into the neighborhood, watch for posted restrictions. Unsure how to read them? Try our LA parking sign quiz.

Personal experience from StreetParkingMap’s owner. Availability varies; check the signs for your space and entire stay.
